Best Practice Forum

OMEGA facilitates a Best Practice Forum, so as to improve workplace practice with regard to the recruitment, integration and retention of skilled immigrants.

Forum participants demonstrate local leadership with regard to the issue of skilled immigrants in the New Zealand workplace.  Thought leadership on recruitment, integration and retention translates into action, as ideas and examples of successful, practical initiatives are clearly captured and disseminated for other organisations to apply.  On the individual merits of each idea, participants further consider and incorporate findings and changes into HR policies in their own places of work.

The forum comprises OMEGA’s business and funding partners with participation by invitation.  It meets quarterly with working groups tackling issues in between meetings, and members regularly engage in dialogue on current themes related to skilled immigrants.

OMEGA also looks at international best practice.  It is a participant of Cities of Migration, an international project to showcase good practice in the integration of urban immigrants, and to promote innovative ideas that create equity, social cohesion and urban prosperity.
