Funding Partners

The work of OMEGA is made possible by generous financial support from several New Zealand organisations which see the work of OMEGA as crucial to our collective well-being, since they represent industries where skills shortages constrain Auckland and New Zealand’s growth.  OMEGA thanks these organisations for their financial support.

OMEGA’s funding partners don't just hand over the money and leave OMEGA to do the work.  They're fully involved as change agents:  developing stronger Kiwi industries, future-proofing our country’s economy, and giving us the edge when it comes to competing in the global job market.  Some executives and CEOs from OMEGA's funding partners are also Champions for Change.

OMEGA invites dialogue with other organisations who may be interested in participating in its work.

"Auckland is a true melting pot, one of the most ethnically diverse city in the world, with one in three residents born overseas.  The city attracts international talent and it is important we support initiatives that tap into the talent. I want to see fewer engineers driving taxis. I want all people living in Auckland to have the opportunities make the best contribution they can towards making Auckland a vibrant, diverse, and cosmopolitan city."

His Worship the Mayor, Hon John Banks

“We’ve always had a strong focus on attracting the very best people and have invested in building an awesome community of passionate inspiring employees. Being part of the OMEGA Mentoring Programme means we foster and connect with the very best talent on a global level, as well as take an active leadership role in helping skilled immigrants connect with Kiwi businesses.  With a team of over 3,000 people across Gen-i, we have a workforce with a wide variety of backgrounds from all over the world. Every day I see the value skilled immigrants bring to our business through their unique skill sets and experience.”

Chris Quin, CEO, Gen-i Australasia

“Genesis Energy’s business relies on a highly skilled workforce, integral to our ability to provide reliable services to New Zealanders.  We recognise the long term challenges of competing for skills which are predicted to be, or currently are, in short-supply.   Partnering with OMEGA makes good business sense – for us, our communities and our customers.”

Albert Brantley, Chief Executive, Genesis Energy

"New Zealand Post Group is a large, diverse organisation and this diversity – in our businesses and in our people – is key to our success. Our support for OMEGA recognises the importance we place on our workforce reflecting the diversity of our country, and in supporting new New Zealanders to play a part in its future success. But that is only as it should be because New Zealand Post is all about people connecting people, communities and businesses."

Jacqui Cleland, Group Manager Human Resources, New Zealand Post Group

"State is proud to sponsor OMEGA.  What better way for State to live its values and build a sustainable future for this country, than by supporting and  coaching the people who will become our future customers, colleagues and friends as they transition to becoming real New Zealanders.  At State, help just happens."

Mary Jane Daly, Executive General Manager, State

"BNZ is committed to connecting with people at a community level, and to a vision of a cosmopolitan country that embraces all cultures and gets the best out of these cultures for New Zealand and its future. OMEGA provides this platform through their mentoring and internship initiatives. We are a proud advocate and supporter of OMEGA and look forward to continuing to contribute to their success."

Louise Harvey-Wills, Director, People, BNZ
